Amazing Grey Poppy excels as a cut flower, prized by florists for the most elegant and refined arrangements. It works beautifully in landscape borders where its sophisticated lavender-grey tones add visual intrigue and drama to garden design. The flowers are equally at home in casual home arrangements, where their delicate, silk-like petals bring an unexpected sophistication to any vase.
Sow Amazing Grey Poppy in spring for summer blooms, or in fall for flowers that bloom earliest in spring. Direct sow into prepared garden soil in full sun.
For fresh-cut flowers, harvest in the morning when blooms are at their freshest and petals are just beginning to open. Use a clean knife that has been dipped in a 10% household bleach solution to make a clean cut. Add a few drops of bleach to your vase water to prolong the flowers' beauty and extend their display life.
Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage extended blooming throughout the season. Remove entire flower stems at the base using a clean knife to promote continuous flowering rather than seed production.
