Welcome to Verdantly! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Verdantly’s services, including our website, gardening tools, plant database, API, and any other features provided through verdantly.io (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using Verdantly, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

2. Use of the Service

Verdantly provides tools, content, and an API that can be used for personal, educational, and commercial purposes. If you are using Verdantly’s API (e.g., via RapidAPI), you are permitted to incorporate it into your applications, products, or services, subject to the terms of your subscription tier.

You may not resell, repackage, or redistribute raw data unless explicitly allowed by your plan.

All use must comply with applicable laws, these Terms, and any usage limitations or rate limits associated with your API key or plan.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any laws or third-party rights.
  • Attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or access restrictions.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or clone the Service or its data outside of authorized access.

3. Intellectual Property

All content, including plant data, designs, software, and branding, is the property of Verdantly or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service and content as described in these Terms. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from our content without permission unless otherwise allowed through API access or documented licensing terms.

If you contribute content (e.g., garden layouts or community suggestions), you retain ownership but grant us a license to use and display it as part of the Service.

4. Plant Data & Accuracy

Verdantly’s plant data is compiled from evidence-based sources including:

  • The USDA PLANTS Database
  • Academic and agricultural research institutions
  • University extension services
  • Trusted seed catalogs and breeder guides
  • Verified community contributions

We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee that all information is suitable for every region, garden type, or purpose. Always cross-reference with local growing conditions and best practices.

5. API Access

If you access Verdantly via RapidAPI or other platforms:

  • You must comply with your plan’s terms, rate limits, and any additional platform terms.
  • Unauthorized scraping, automated bulk extraction, or misuse of the API is prohibited.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or revoke API access at any time if misuse is detected or terms are violated.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Verdantly at our discretion if you violate these Terms or abuse the Service. Any active paid subscriptions may also be subject to termination under applicable policies set by RapidAPI or payment platforms.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Verdantly makes no guarantees of fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted access, or accuracy of content. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
