Large Leaf Sorrel shines in applications where its bright lemon character can be showcased. Use fresh leaves raw in salads for a tangy punch, or cook them into soups where the acidity cuts through richness beautifully. It's outstanding blended into green smoothies, where its citrus notes complement fruits like apple, banana, and pineapple. The leaves also work in baking applications, adding an intriguing flavor dimension to breads and other baked goods.
Sow seeds sparingly in early spring in a full-sun location. For continuous harvests, repeat sowing every two weeks as long as weather remains cool throughout spring and fall.
Harvest begins around 45 days after sowing. Pick individual leaves as needed, starting with the outer leaves and working your way in to encourage the plant to produce more foliage. Harvest regularly during the cool seasons when growth is most vigorous, and the plant will continue producing fresh leaves.
