Sweet Bagel is a low-chill peach cultivar that thrives in zones 5-9, reaching a mature height of 18 feet. This flat, donut-shaped peach produces medium-large fruit with striking yellow skin blushed in light apricot and deep yellow flesh that darkens to maroon near the pit. Its late-midseason bloom timing helps sidestep unpredictable spring frosts, while requiring just 300-400 chill hours makes it an excellent choice for gardeners in warmer climates. The fruit ripens late in the season, extending your harvest window well into fall.

Flat, donut-shaped peaches with a gorgeous color gradient from yellow-apricot skin to deep golden flesh set this variety apart. Its remarkably low chill requirement of just 300-400 hours opens peach growing to southern gardeners who've long been shut out by traditional varieties. Late-midseason bloom timing and reliable heavy production combine to deliver consistent crops of medium-large fruit even when spring weather turns temperamental.
Sweet Bagel's flat, donut-peach form makes it distinctly well-suited to fresh eating straight from the tree. The unusual shape and distinctive appearance also make it a conversation starter at farmers markets and an eye-catching addition to fruit platters. The low-chill requirement has made it increasingly valuable for commercial and home growers in warm-climate regions where traditional peaches struggle.

Harvest Sweet Bagel peaches when they reach medium-large size and the skin develops its full yellow-apricot coloring with maroon undertones near the pit. The fruit ripens late in the season, so patience is rewarded with fully developed flavor. Gentle handling during harvest preserves the delicate flesh characteristic of donut peaches.
