What sets Cornel Bronze apart is its distinctive color palette, those orange and yellow petals with an antique, sepia-toned quality create blooms that feel like they belong in a vintage still life. The plant's vigor and prolific flowering habit make it a reliable performer from mid-summer through frost, and its substantial 4-inch flowers are substantial enough to anchor any arrangement. Growing 3 to 4 feet tall with just 12 inches of spacing needed between plants, this dahlia packs real impact without demanding excessive room in the garden.
Cornel Bronze Dahlia is grown primarily for cut flower arrangements and garden display. Its warm autumn-hued blooms excel in late-season bouquets and bring warmth to seasonal floral designs, particularly during fall when its sepia undertones complement harvest-themed arrangements.
Transplant Cornel Bronze Dahlia tubers outdoors in late spring once soil temperatures have reached 60 degrees, timing this around your last frost date to avoid frost damage to young plants. Space tubers 12 inches apart with rows 24 inches apart.
Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continued flowering throughout the growing season and direct the plant's energy toward producing more of those prized 4-inch flowers. Pinching back the main stem early in the growing season can encourage branching and a fuller, more prolific plant.
