What makes Blush Tiger so special is the combination of visual drama and genuine flavor depth. The blushed coloring isn't just skin-deep, it comes paired with a slightly crunchy bite and a sugary, well-balanced taste that has made it a standout favorite in trials. These 2- to 2.5-inch tomatoes glitter and shine on the vine, catching attention in the garden and later on the plate. It's the kind of tomato that justifies its place at a farmers market, but it thrives just as well in a backyard garden where you can eat it straight off the vine.
These small, elegant tomatoes are perfect for fresh salads where their slight crunch and balanced sweetness shine without being overwhelming. Their size and attractive appearance make them ideal for farmers market sales, where visual appeal matters as much as taste. They work beautifully in composed plates, on charcuterie boards, or simply halved and tossed into simple dishes where quality tomato flavor can speak for itself.
Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before your last spring frost. Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep in seed-starting mix kept at 70–75°F, and transplant into larger containers once seedlings develop true leaves. Harden off seedlings gradually over 7–10 days before moving them outdoors.
Transplant outdoors once soil temperature reaches 60°F and nighttime lows stay consistently above 50°F, spacing plants 24 inches apart in rows 3 feet apart. Choose a spot with full sun exposure. Plant deeply, burying the lower stem up to the first true leaves to encourage a stronger root system.
These tomatoes are ready to pick around 75 days from transplanting. Harvest when they've developed their full blushed coloring and feel slightly soft when gently squeezed. The fruits can be picked at the mature-pink stage and allowed to finish ripening on the counter, or left on the vine until completely ripe for maximum sweetness. Expect to harvest continuously throughout the season as the indeterminate vine keeps producing.
As an indeterminate variety, Blush Tiger will continue growing throughout the season. Pinch off the bottom suckers (shoots that grow between the main stem and branches) to direct energy into fruit production rather than excessive foliage. Remove lower leaves as the plant matures to improve air circulation and reduce disease pressure, but avoid stripping so many leaves that fruit becomes sunburned.

Its classification as an heirloom reflects a growing movement in vegetable breeding where artisanal seeds focus on flavor, appearance, and the kind of quality that home gardeners and market producers actively seek out.
